Competition Bowls

blaze-logo-2Belmont Services Bowls Club is the home to the Mighty Belmont Blaze

Recently the club’s Constitution was amended to include both men and women members. We are a community club that prides itself on catering for lawn bowlers of all ages and skill levels. We welcome new members and are always pleased to receive visiting bowlers on our greens.

If you are a new bowler or someone who wants to try lawn bowling as a sport, we are the club for you. We can help you learn the basic skills of bowling through free coaching and can also provide you guidance on equipment and footware etc.

Contact our coaching co-ordinator via the club on 3398 1551 to arrange coaching and an introduction to our great game where you can meet new friends, socialise and/or enjoy a competitive game.

Belmont’s social bowls program is designed to meet the requirements of all – from purely social to those with the desire to improve and compete at higher levels.

Competition Bowls

In addition to social bowls, the club also holds annual competitions among our members to crown Club Champions in singles, pairs, triples and fours. Winners can progress to higher competitions at District, State and National levels.

Pennants: We compete in Gateway District Pennants against other district clubs in Divisions 1 to 8. Pennants run from early July to late September for the men and from June to August for ladies who field players in 4 divisions.

Premier League: A competition for men and women from January to March yearly between clubs from South East Queensland. The Premier League attracts players of the highest level in our sport and includes Queensland and National representative players. Belmont Bowls Club is a proud participant in the competition.

GR8 Competition: In 2022 the Club joined their first year playing in GR8’s.  A Team of 8 players (a four and two pairs) compete with other clubs in and around the Brisbane area.

Gateway Summer Shield: A competition that runs in the first quarter of each year in the Gateway District.

Poinciana Challenge: An event for men from Divisions 5, 6 and 7 and played from April to May.
